Community Driven, Nature Inspired

Building the Trail Together

Friends of the Conway Branch Rail Trail (formerly Friends of the Ossipee Rail Trail) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit devoted to developing and building a trail network on the Conway Branch Recreational Rail Trail. This 21-mile corridor connects Ossipee, Tamworth, Madison, Albany, and Conway.

What began a decade ago as an Ossipee Economic Development Council effort to revitalize Center Ossipee’s downtown has grown into a regional recreation path operated by NH State Parks. Our Board now includes representatives from neighboring towns, and our membership reaches recreation enthusiasts from afar.

In 2026, we changed our name to reflect our commitment to advocating for, building, and maintaining the entire corridor. Together with our stakeholders and partners, we will make the Conway Branch a true four-season, multi-use regional connector.

Our Mission

To develop, build, and maintain a comprehensive and cohesive trail network on the Conway Branch Trail corridor that connects the villages of Ossipee and Conway.

Our Vision

To create and steward a regional rail trail by collaborating with like-minded organizations and communities. To enhance recreational and economic opportunities for trail towns while connecting with broader trail networks.
